August Flooding Basement Mold — Elm Grove WI Full Recovery

Before the August 2024 flooding that affected the greater Milwaukee area, a resident of Elm Grove, Wisconsin felt completely well in her home. When floodwater reached her finished basement, mold followed — and the remediation her insurance company arranged made things worse rather than better. The company cut corners on demolition, leaving the job incomplete and the resident still suffering.

This was not a typical mold sensitivity case. The resident had a documented history of mold illness and understood her own response well — not an allergic reaction, but an immunological one that manifested through her nervous system. She had previously worked with Dr. Pompa, a well-known functional health practitioner, and had learned about Pure Maintenance Wisconsin's patented vapor technology through that connection. She came to us knowing exactly what she needed and why.

Our work began where the previous company left off — completing the demolition properly, removing all remaining affected material the right way, and then treating the entire home with our patented vapor technology. The vapor reaches porous materials throughout the building that demolition alone cannot address, eliminating the residual spore load driving her ongoing symptoms. Post-remediation air sampling confirmed 0 spores. The resident felt 100% back to normal. Five months later she remains completely symptom free.

Insurance-funded remediation that cuts corners does not save money — it transfers the cost onto the homeowner in the form of ongoing illness, additional treatments, and the emotional toll of living in a home that never feels safe. Pure Maintenance Wisconsin serves Elm Grove and communities throughout the greater Milwaukee area.
