“I highly recommend Pure Maintenance Wisconsin! They made a very stressful situation of discovering black mold in our home, causing severe mycotoxin illness, a seamless and stress free process. Courtney is amazing! She and her team are excellent at communicating, and are very detailed in explaining the process. Courtney is the 1st person to be certified in Wisconsin with this specific type of mold remediation! It’s cutting edge. They removed literally every spore from our space. Unfortunately, as a population, we are not educated about mold and its dangers - that it can cause cancer, for example. Most mold remediation is inadequate & does not actually remove the dangerous spores from your space. Courtney is an expert and can be 100% trusted. My doctor’s office even uses her company. Thank you, Courtney!”

“Courtney and the team were so helpful! After a renovation of our basement we thought all the mold was gone. Courtney came in and investigated until she found spots we hadn't thought about. She kept working with us until we eradicated the mold entirely! The demo'd a few spots that were too saturated with mold, dried out anything that could be salvaged, and applied the vapor. Very effective process that was much less expensive than redoing our basement stairs and more walls! It's been so nice to have our house back!”

“Courtney was extremely knowledgeable about mycotoxin illness and the steps that needed to be taken to remediate my condo - including dealing with odd schedules and an inflexible HOA. For tasks outside of Pure Maintenance's specialty, she recommended other skilled local professionals who also did their jobs quickly and well. I highly recommend this company.”

“I was very impressed with Pure Maintenance Mold Removal. I have the HLA genotype that doesn’t form antibodies to the mycotoxin that mold spores produce, and therefore I get pretty sick from a mold exposure with CIRS symptoms. Our basement was flooded in August and after initial remediation from an emergency company, I was still experiencing symptoms. I had heard about Pure Maintenance from a health podcast and felt fairly convinced that they would make my home healthy again. Customer service was excellent and prompt, communication was clear. Courtney (the owner) came to my home and pointed out areas that still needed remediated. She was very detailed as she went through my home, searching for potential mold spores. She and her team came in and completely removed any potentially remaining mold, using negative air pressure to ensure the spores did not infiltrate the rest of my home. After they were confident they removed all of the mold spores, they treated my entire home with their dry fog which completely neutralizes the air. They tested the air after their work and levels were at zero. When I came back into my home after their work, the air was so fresh and clean. I no longer had symptoms from the mycotoxin exposure and feel healthy again. Courtney is extremely detail oriented and is an expert in mold remediation. She is honest, and collaborates with her clients on the best remediation approach. My only regret is that I didn’t hire Pure Maintenance right away after the flood to do the initial remediation. I highly recommend them!”

Your carpet still smells musty no matter how many times you clean it. Maybe there was a spill, a leak, or a slow drip weeks back, and the odor never properly left. Carpet mold doesn't start in the fibers you can see; it grows from the bottom up, in the padding and subfloor, which is why surface cleaning never fixes it. We can treat the whole system without ripping up your floors, and in most Madison homes we can start same day.

When you need carpet mold removal

If your carpet got wet and didn't dry out fully within 24 to 48 hours, there's a good chance mold is already growing in the padding. That covers the obvious causes like burst pipes and basement flooding after a storm, plus the sneakier ones: a humidifier running all winter in a closed-up room, condensation pooling by a patio door, or snowmelt creeping in through a foundation crack in March and April. Madison's humid summers, heavy winter snow, and spring thaw make basement and ground-floor carpet especially prone. Homes here get sealed up tight from November through April, which traps moisture inside and gives mold months to settle into carpet padding without anyone noticing. Watch for a musty smell cleaning won't touch, dark patches on the surface, a damp feel underfoot, and allergy symptoms that only hit in carpeted rooms. If you can lift a corner and see staining or fuzzy growth on the backing, it's well established. Don't wait. Mold spreads, and once it's into the subfloor, the fix gets far more expensive.

Our carpet mold removal process

Most remediation companies have one answer: pull up the carpet, tear out the padding, and start fresh. It works, but it's expensive and often unnecessary. We use Pure Maintenance's patented vapor technology. Our antimicrobial sterilant passes through the carpet fibers into the padding and subfloor below, killing mold where it lives rather than just where you can see it. After that, we apply a protective coating to help stop it coming back. Most jobs take a few hours per room, and you can walk on the carpet the same day. If the padding is truly saturated or the subfloor is damaged beyond saving, we'll tell you straight. But carpet and padding that other companies would haul to the dumpster can usually be treated in place and kept.

Carpet mold removal cost in Madison, WI

Replacing carpet isn't cheap. By the time you add new padding, installation, furniture moving, and subfloor treatment, you're looking at real money per room, and that's before the remediation bill. Treating your carpet in place with our vapor treatment usually costs a fraction of that. The exact price depends on how many rooms are affected, the type of carpet and padding, and whether the subfloor needs work. We come out, look at the whole situation, and give you an honest upfront quote before any work starts. No hidden fees, no surprises. If replacement is the only sensible option, we'll say so.

Why choose us

Most companies default to tearing out carpet because their methods can't reach the mold underneath. Our vapor system can, and that difference saves Madison homeowners thousands. We verify every treatment with independent lab testing and guarantee your indoor mold levels will be lower than outdoor levels, or we come back at no charge. Same-day service is usually available across Madison, from the isthmus neighborhoods to Middleton, Fitchburg, Sun Prairie, and Verona. We'll also help you work out what caused the moisture in the first place, so the same carpet isn't growing mold again six months from now. That's a promise we stand behind because we've seen the process work in hundreds of homes.

Don't tear out carpet that might not need replacing. Call Pure Maintenance Wisconsin at 608-555-0199 for a same-day assessment and an honest quote. We'll tell you exactly what's going on under your carpet, and what it'll take to put it right.
